Warm Reminder Before Placing Your Order

Dear Friend,

Welcome to Pude Organic Farm! On this red volcanic soil, we lovingly cultivate each bayberry. To ensure you have a wonderful picking experience, please take a few minutes to read the following friendly tips:

🌱 About Our Farm(Farm environment pictures on homepage)

In July 2025, we took over the guardianship of this bayberry orchard from an elderly Western couple in their 80s. As the bayberry trees and farm had been neglected, we have spent the past few months diligently caring for the bayberry trees: pruning, clearing fallen leaves, fertilizing, and thinning fruit. Due to limited manpower, the farm environment is not yet fully developed; it only meets basic needs. We have done our best to provide for these basic needs, such as restrooms, hand-washing facilities, and leveled paths. We are aware of our many shortcomings, but please believe that we are dedicated to making this place better.

🍒 About Bayberry Quality

Our main variety is the荸荠杨梅 (Water Chestnut Bayberry), also known as "Black Charcoal Bayberry." The characteristic of this fruit is that it is ripe when dark red, and the best flavor is when it's red to black, offering a sweet-and-sour taste with abundant juice. This is the most delightful flavor. Although our bayberries are not large, with an average diameter of about 2 centimeters, their petite size concentrates the essence of sunshine and rain.

The farm is home to 7 varieties of bayberries, from early to late ripening, extending the picking season to about one month. As this is our first year managing this bayberry farm, we are still exploring the varieties and flavors of the bayberries. We will continuously update good varieties in the future, aiming to improve the size and taste of the bayberries grown in this clean soil.

⚠️ Safety First (This is very important!)

Special reminder: Bayberry branches are quite fragile, like brittle biscuits, and can easily break. For your safety and the health of the fruit trees, please do not climb them. If an accident occurs due to climbing, you will be solely responsible. Please be sure to inform all adults and children in your group so that we can all protect this orchard together.

📅 Booking and Entry

  • Picking requires advance booking. Upon successful booking, you will receive a confirmation email from us (please check your spam folder).

  • Upon arrival at the farm, please present your booking confirmation email at the reception. Our guide will take you into the world of bayberries and share interesting bayberry stories.

🎯 Picking Tips

  • When picking, please gently twist and handle each fruit and branch with care.
  • We have prepared special picking baskets for you, allowing the bayberries to rest comfortably.
  • Feel free to taste as you pick! Fresh bayberries are most delicious when eaten right off the tree.

🌿 Let's Protect the Farm Together

  • Please remember to take your trash with you or put it in designated bins to keep the farm beautiful.
  • Besides bayberries, there are other fruit trees on the farm—feel free to taste the ripe ones; please let the unripe ones stay on the branches and dream.
  • Parents with children, please supervise them to prevent stepping on planted areas (young seedlings also need care).

🐝 Special Attention Areas

  • We have diligent little bees. Please keep a distance from the beehives to give them a quiet working environment.
  • Large patches of hydrangeas are in full bloom on the farm! If you wish to take a bouquet home, please ask a staff member for scissors. Remember to choose before cutting and cherish the beauty of each flower.
  • Friendly reminder: There are some wild blackberries hidden among the flowers, and their branches have thorns, so please be careful!

👕 What to Wear

  • Comfortable athletic shoes and long pants are your best companions (there might be small insects in the grass).
  • Sunscreen, insect repellent, sun hat—your outdoor essentials.
  • Dark clothing is more practical (bayberry juice is a natural "dye").

☔ Weather Interludes

  • In case of severe weather, for everyone's safety, we may adjust or cancel activities.
  • The farm is especially fresh after rain, but please be careful of slippery surfaces. Walk slowly and enjoy the scenery along the way.

💰 Fee Explanation

  • The entrance fee allows you to enjoy the joy of picking and the pastoral time.
  • Want to take bayberries home? We charge by actual weight, fair and reasonable.
  • Cash and electronic payments are welcome; whatever is convenient for you is best.
